Project: Indoor dining table, large double-slab design.
Location: Hertfordshire countryside, England.
Wood: Earthy oak. Full stave, wide stave character wood slabs.
Vacuum Kiln Drying: The timber was kiln dried in-house to below 10% moisture content using the vacuum kiln drying process for maximum stability.
Features: resin infill enhancement of rustic attributes. Square edging. Bark preservation. Earthy jointing system – live edge joint. Treated with a natural blend of fragrant oils.
Support: Industrial steel table legs – tapered, copper bronze finish. Individually calibrated metal holding system.
The extensive size of this indoor dining table beautifully complements the rooms’ spacious décor, which conveniently faces a stunning, vibrant garden. The robust pair of calibrated copper legs provides an elegant transition between the cool colour palette of grey flooring and the radiant warmth of English oak. The surface was treated with a blend of fragrant oils to enhance the natural patterns and striations. Its earthy knots and voids were filled with translucent resin to retain the raw appeal and accentuate the rustic attributes. The slabs were inventively jointed using a specialist technique that preserves live edges and bark in a basin of clear resin.
‘It’s properly and completely gorgeous. Wow.’
