Here at Earthy Timber and our sister company Earthy Timber Luxury Wooden Furniture, we love to transform our customers’ homes with our bespoke full stave, wide stave wooden worktops, counter tops, tables, desks and shelves. We feel that almost nothing beats the natural beauty of wood – and our customers think so, too.
We were delighted to receive a call from Phil, sales director from Hurstpierpoint in Sussex, and invited to visit him at his home.
Located in a charming, secluded part of Sussex, UK, Phil’s mid-Victorian period house and surrounding land delights the eye with a rustic appeal, large rooms over three floors and many original features. A warm and cosy home but with a kitchen that just wasn’t exactly to his tastes.
We’ll let Phil take over from here: “This is my dream home with my partner, but the kitchen was so 1980s! Pine, pine and more pine simply everywhere, it was warped, unhygienic-looking and just rather orange. It had to go. With the kitchen being the largest room in the house and heart of my home, it was time to talk to Earthy Timber…”
We had to agree.
Like all savvy shoppers, Phil did his research, but Earthy Timber was the only company to meet his needs in terms of product, design skills, creative ideas and prompt, courteous customer service. This home-owner knew what he didn’t want and, through listening carefully, we offered him exactly what he did want, based on our expertise and knowledge.
The kitchen’s oak worktops are substantial, with plenty of space for the keen cook to wield ingredients and all manner of kitchen tools. The solution? Think: rustic, with a subtle, warm tone to blend in with the neutral décor and the sheer size of the room.
Almost every counter in the kitchen now has a wooden surface sourced, designed, finished by Earthy Timber. All rustic oak worktops are smooth, strokable with a delicate warm hue, with oak upstands exactly matched in colour and finish.
A subtle resin infill bark preserved feature highlights the beautiful butler sink under the window overlooking the garden. Large, period windows are enhanced by oak window sills, with oak shelves of various size and thickness supporting herbs, spices, teapots, kettles and all sorts of cookery books. The heart of the kitchen indeed.
That’s not all, though. Further inspection of Phil’s home reveals the presence of our products in several other rooms: oak window sills and feature oak shelves in the living room and in one of the bedrooms. Phil’s dog rather likes them, too, as you can see.
Says Phil, “Earthy Timber delivered on their promise to design, create, and fit a totally bespoke product, supported by outstanding customer service. I have no hesitation to recommend them to anyone” Earthy Timber is unique in the marketplace in that we source, kiln dry and create our pieces and, through careful control of the entire process, offer outstanding results. We’d love to hear from you, even if your kitchen isn’t orange!
