Our client wanted a large live edge dining table that was suitable for roofed outdoor use and complimented the surroundings of rural Southern France.
We created this unique oak table from one large single wood slab and infilled the beautiful rustic ‘imperfections’ such as knots, cracks and striations using our signature resin infill technique.
The natural edge smoked oak dining table is a centrepiece inspired by nature with a classical, timeless appeal, handcrafted using state of the art methodology.
Alex’s live edge oak table is an artistic yet distinguished mixture of the modern and the classic. The ageing process gracefully darkened the light toned European oak, enhancing the stunning organic patterns and striations.
The raw overtones of the large sized wood slab are accentuated by a pair robust forged in-house steel legs with a weathered finish. This ideally accords with Alex’s vibrant garden, establishing an effortless transition between the indoor and outdoor area.
Earthy® Timber ‘s unique wood elaborating and kiln drying procedures are the most advanced and accurate methods of drying interesting timbers and produces the best quality wood slabs, ideal for both indoor and outdoor use.
The lower the moisture content, the less susceptible the live edge wood table is to changes in temperature, splits and cracks. Thanks to its minimal moisture content, Alex’s living edge oak table will swiftly adapt to its surroundings and develop resistance to the challenging Mediterranean climate, ageing beautifully over time.
Earthy® Timber’s waterproofing process renders the live edge wood slab table water resistant. This innovative technique developed in-house immerses the live edge wood slab in a protective treatment penetrating the deeper layers of wood and is completely invisible to the naked eye. The waney edge slab table top is not only irresistibly smooth, but also extremely durable and hygienic to use.
