High Quality Timber Kiln Dried in House
Here at Earthy® Timber, we believe that quality is key whilst maintaining the utmost beautiful furniture design. Therefore, we professionally process and dry our timber in-house in our vacuum wood kiln. Unlike many mass produced furniture on the market, we dry our timber to 8-10% moisture content level which guarantees long lasting quality of our waney edge solid wood bar tops in most challenging commercial environments.

We manufacture our earthy® solid wood bars and tables using the most interesting oak slabs and walnut planks. Our timber is sustainably sourced from English and European woodlands and are hand-picked in house for their unique organic, natural qualities. Our bespoke slabs can originate from the same tree making them colour and feature compatible for multiple products. LIVE EDGE
Our live edge or waney edge bar tops and restaurant tables are available in both our rustic oak or wild and grainy walnut. Our live edges are designed to add a interesting organic earthy® touch to your commercial space that adds aesthetical beauty whether it be a traditional rustic styled or a modern contemporary bar, pub or restaurant.
STRAIGHT EDGE
Our beautiful square or straight edged bar tops and restaurant tables are our most traditional modern contemporary option for edging but still maintains an earthy organic quality to the overall finish. Our straight or square edged can be combined with our resin enhancement technique to add an artistic and ‘frozen nature’ look to your bespoke solid wood bar or table.
MIXED EDGE
We also offer a mixed edging choice which in keeps with the traditional straight or square edging style but combines with the quirks of live edging in sections. NATURAL WOOD BAR TOP FINISHING OPTIONS
Here at EARTHY® TIMBER we offer three high-quality finishing choices that have different benefits and work to protect your beautiful bespoke solid wood bar top or table. Due to the properties of the finishing choices, it is important to consider where your solid wood bar or table will be used and what it will be exposed to. We offer a clear transparent lacquer, an enhancing water-based oil or our signature Earthy® Timber Luxury waterproof finish.
Bar Top Finished in Oil
Our high-quality oil finish allows the amplification of the earthy organic grains and colourings to create deep rich browns and golds. This amplification process is what aesthetically differentiates from the lacquer finish. Our oil finish is incredibly durable and protects your unique earthy bar or table from alcohol, food acid, heat and water.
Our oil finishing works to protect your unique earthy solid wood bar or table in a different way from lacquer. Rather than act as a thick shield like barrier, the oil deeply penetrates the layers of the timber to create several protective layers in between whilst maintaining a long-lasting moisture balance. Whilst we believe our oil finishing offers optimum protection from damage, we recommend taking care when placing hot plates, mugs, glasses and bowls on your bespoke solid wood bar top or table. Over time we recommend to re-apply another layer of oil after a thorough sanding to keep your beautiful bar maintained. If damage was to occur, this process can also be used to repair it. Bar Top Finished in Lacquer
For those wishing to keep the original earthy tones and colourings rather than enhance them, we recommend using our high-quality transparent lacquer finish. Our low-VOC, water-based lacquer finish features a non-yellowing formula and UV barrier to protect the organic natural tones and offers a tough thick barrier against staining, scratching, moisture damage and heat.
Unlike oil, rather than deeply penetrate the layers of the timber, the lacquer creates a thick shield like barrier over the top to protect from damage and corrosion. Over time the lacquer barrier may begin to wear, however this can be easily restored by thoroughly sanding the surface of your interesting solid wood bar or table and re-applying a coating of lacquer. ADDITIONAL SERVICES
Resin Enhancement
Our signature resin infill technique is a highly skilled technique that brings out the beautiful organic natural features of the timber. We use a premium quality resin that’s as clear as glass into any knots, cracks, voids or gaps to create a truly extraordinary frozen nature effect. Our resin enhancement is available with both our bespoke solid wood bars and our modern contemporary table tops.
Bark Preservation
Our wild walnut and rustic oak slabs for our bespoke solid wood bars and table tops traditionally have the bark removed and each live edge plank follows the natural shape of the tree. However, if you wish to add further organic earthy texture to your bespoke solid wood bar or table top, we offer a bark preservation service.
